A group of my friends used to get together every week to watch the Bachelor. My husband said every week what a waste of time it was and that it is all staged and fake, but we loved it none the less. You can imagine my utter excitement when I saw the show’s host, Chris Harrison, sitting at Chili’s in O’hare airport. I had to introduce myself! Again, I had another Bachelorette run in at a La Jolla, California CVS. Checking out in line was Roberto and Ali from season 6 buying wine. I cornered them and got a pic! Isaac had no idea who they were or why they were famous, but took the picture anyway for me.
I used to make this munchie mix at our Bachelor nights. It’s a combination of sweet and salty and our group managed to eat the whole bowl every time I made it. My friend, Karly, creatively came up with the name Fantasy Sweets for this delicious mix. As you know, contestants are able to forgo their individual room and stay together as a couple in the Fantasy Suite towards the end of the season. Isaac and I still dispute about what actuality happens behind those closed doors. He thinks I am crazy for believing they just stay up all night talking! Enjoy this addicting snack during your next viewing party and I guarantee it will be a great time.
4 cups Cheerios
4 cups Crispix
2 cups Peanuts
2 cups M and Ms
2 cups Pretzels
1 Bar Almond Bark (Find it in the baking aisle of the grocery store)
Take the whole bark and break it into pieces and place it in a microwave safe bowl. Melt the bark on half power in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until creamy and smooth. Mix the other 5 ingredients in a big bowl and pour the melted chocolate over top the cereal mixture immediately. Stir gently to coat. Lay out the mixture on a baking sheet lined with wax paper to dry. Once dry, break the sweets into pieces and transfer into a big bowl. Serve it up! Store in an air tight container.
