I am not a baker so these bars are right up my alley. They are gooey, chocolatey, and frightfully easy to scarf down. I made these today for my Superbowl party. If you are in a rush and want a dessert that is fast but everyone will love, save this recipe! I even was able to keep my daughter Georgia happily playing on the floor while I baked. That was my biggest accomplishment of the day. What has become of my life! Enjoy the game!
Magical Gooey Bars
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
2 cups semi sweet chocolate chunks
1 1/3 cup shredded sweetened coconut flakes
1/2 cup walnut pieces
Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. EAT oven to 350°F. Coat 13 x 9- baking pan with no-stick cooking spray. Combine graham cracker crumbs and melted butter in small bowl. Press into bottom of prepared pan. Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over crumb mixture. Layer evenly with chocolate chips, coconut and nuts. Press down firmly with fork.
BAKE 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Loosen from sides of pan while still warm; cool on wire rack. Cut into bars after cooled. Makes about 24 bars. Adapted from Magic Bars online from Eagle Brand.
