I never understand when people order sorbet for dessert. My husband always wants something fruity to finish off a good meal. For me it’s gotta be something chocolatey. I love chocolate cake and love it even more when there are chocolate chips scattered throughout the cake. The icing on the cake for me is literally more chocolate icing! The more decadence the better. This cake is a breeze to put together because you can take a few shortcuts like boxed cake mix and store bought frosting. Give it a try for your next party and you will be truly satisfied after your meal, just like I was. Thanks Carly!
Carly’s Triple Threat Chocolate Cake
1 package chocolate cake mix
1 package instant chocolate pudding
1 1/4 cup water
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 container chocolate icing (like Pillsbury chocolate supreme chocolate frosting)
Directions: Grease a 9 by 13 inch pan or bundt pan. Reserve the chocolate icing and 1/2 cup chocolate chips for the topping. Combine the rest of the ingredients. Pour into the pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. When the cake has cooled, spread the icing on the top and sprinkle with the leftover 1/2 cup of the chocolate chips.
